Agile Tools-Epic Tree, Links Tree, Time in Status & Worklogs

I often see some implementing a hierarchy between Jira issues of the type: Strategic Theme -> Business Epic -> Feature -> Story or Task -> Sub-task.

Generally the link pair (between issues): “is parent of” or “is child of” between issues is used, because Epic Links cannot be concatenated on multiple levels.

Issue Links have no restrictions on concatenation/levels. If you need to see how long an issue has been in a certain status, or to which assignee, and so on, then Agile Tools-Epic Tree, Links Tree, Time in Status & Worklogs might be useful.

The main features of the plugin are well described on the Atlassian Marketplace page

You’ll immediately notice that it’s a plugin available for all versions of Jira, the server version that will soon disappear for good to join Datacenter and obviously the cloud version, on which Atlassian is investing a lot.

A plugin, to conclude, that covers three needs common to many companies:

  • Measurement of time (worklog) spent on activities;
  • Structuring on “n” levels;
  • Time in Status;
  • Finally, there are also reports and the possibility of exporting to Excel.
